Charles C. Rich was a member and leader of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. During his life he served as an original member of the Council of Fifty, a Major General in the Nauvoo Legion, and a member of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles in the early days of the Church. Rich was influential in leading the first Latter-day Saint (Mormon) pioneers west and out of Illinois.
